From as far back as I can remember I've always had a curious interest with cameras and the images they can capture. As a child I was never far from a disposable camera, taking photos of the most random and obscure things you can imagine.
Growing up I went from one point and shoot to another. It wasn't until I was well into my 20s I tried my first DSLR, a Canon EOS Rebel T5 with a stock 18-55 lense. This was a massive learning curve for me, and I very quickly realised how much I missed my point and shoot camera.
Trying to work out what ISO meant and the impact it had on a photo, or understanding apature and the effects f 1.8 had over f 22.
Over the next ten to fifteen years I jumped between Nikon and Canon, usually 2nd hand entry level DSLR cameras and using my mobile, which over the years has been more and more my go to due to it's similarities to my old go to point and shoot cameras.
Lately I've tried to find my love of photography and the use of my DSLR over my mobile, which is why I launched crap-photography.co.uk with a simple goal in mind, to create a platform that makes it easy for me to share my take on life through the lense, be that from a retro point and shoot, my mobile or a DSLR.
Shooting mostly in the Scottish Highlands, scenery and wildlife is what I usually find my lense pointed towards, but occasionally I'll feel a little adventurous and turn my hand to something a little more abstract or unusual.
